One man is dead and two others are injured after an accident on U.S. 95 in Coeur D'alene, Idaho last weekend. One of the men hospitalized is from Temple.
Zachary B. Henager of Temple lost control of his car at 8:40 a.m. on Saturday. Police say this caused Henager's car to hit a semi truck, which in turn caused the driver of that semi to collide head-on with another semi. The driver of the 2nd semi, James M. Mady, was killed.
While this was all going on, a third tractor-trailer had to swerve to avoid the crash and hit a fourth semi. A man in a SUV carrying a passenger also swerved off the road in an attempt to avoid the mayhem and landed in a ditch.
Henager and the driver of the first semi truck were both injured and taken to the hospital. No one else was hurt.
The roadway was blocked off for more than 11 hours after the crash.
