Trucking Accident Article:
Six Kearney High School students and one staff member were injured after a bus-semitrailer truck crash on Interstate 80
Twenty-eight Kearney High School students and four staff members were involved in the crash near mile marker 419, which is one mile west of the Greenwood/Ashland exit in Cass County. The students were on their way to UNMC on a field trip.
The bus did not roll over.
All parents and students involved in the crash have been notified by the school district.
Some students were treated for minor injuries at the scene and were later transported to the Ashland/Greenwood High School to wait for a KHS bus to transport them back to Kearney.
They did not released the name of the bus driver.
Deb Collins, spokeswoman for the Nebraska State Patrol, said troopers responded to the accident around 9:15 a.m.
Traffic on eastbound I-80 at the Waverly interchange was diverted to Highway 6 and I-80 westbound lanes were closed to allow emergency vehicles to the crash
